Dinneen: RFS threatens Big Oil's dominance of fuel market

The Renewable Fuel Standard should be left in place because it is reducing the nation's reliance on foreign oil and cleaning the air while supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and contributing billions of dollars to local, state and federal coffers, writes Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. The so-called E10 blend wall was created by the oil industry itself, through its refusal to adopt higher ethanol blends, Dinneen states. The debate over the RFS isn't about the safety of ethanol, it's about oil companies fighting to maintain their dominance of the market, Dinneen writes.
