Dots has racked up 1 billion contests before Android launch

Dots racked up 5 million downloads and 1 billion games served in advance of its recent release on the Android and Kindle Fire platforms, Jordan Crook writes. Dots co-founder Paul Murphy says the company made a concerted effort to make the new release equivalent to the iOS hit so future updates could run simultaneously. In the latest release, fans can use a new game mode based on a fixed number of moves instead of on a 60-second clock.
