Two new, free Web platforms called OpenCurriculum and Activate Instruction allow teachers to upload resources, lesson plans and other materials and act like a disc jockey to create digital "playlists" that can be shared with other educators. "The great thing about it is that it makes it very, very easy to personalize and individualize things for students," said Kevin Bock, a chemistry teacher at a California school in which the platform was tested for the past year.
