Chevron announces "significant" offshore Australia gas find

Chevron said it struck natural gas in the Carnarvon Basin off of Western Australia's coast. The company said it found "about 896 feet of net gas pay" after exploring almost 3,000 feet deep, this article says. The size of the net pay makes the discovery "one of our most significant natural gas discoveries in Australia," said company executive George Kirkland.
