Official: Seabrook can handle up to 60 years' worth of used fuel

As NextEra Energy Resources awaits approval of its application for a 20-year extension of the operating license of the Seabrook nuclear plant in New Hampshire, the company is confident in the plant's holding capacity for up to 60 years' worth of used reactor fuel. Seabrook's dry-storage facility can safely handle hazardous waste beyond the plant's expected life span, said spokesman Alan Griffith.
