Cloud popularity paves the way for managed services for SMBs

Turning to managed services such as third-party network monitoring and maintenance can offer small and midsize businesses a way to boost productivity while cutting costs, but most SMBs remain unaware of the potential benefits, according to a study by CIT Group. Value-added resellers say the knowledge gap makes it harder for them to get managed services into their customers' hands. But almost two-thirds of VARs reported that the popularity of cloud computing has made it easier to sell SMBs on managed services.
