Research: Laptops, PCs will give way to mobile handsets, tablets

A survey by Trendstream's GlobalWebIndex revealed that 79% of those who access the Internet prefer doing so through a personal PC or a laptop -- a figure that is projected to plunge to 42% in a year's time. By then, 40% will prefer using tablet computers, mobile phones or e-readers to surf the Web, while 7% will use Internet-connected televisions and 11% will rely on work PCs or laptops.
