Royal Bank of Canada emphasizes teamwork

An emphasis on teamwork and modest expansion plans have helped Royal Bank of Canada stay ahead of Canada's other large banks, says CEO Gordon Nixon. "We don't tolerate fiefdoms and so forth," he says. "We can have the hottest-shot trader in the world, but if he doesn't comply with the culture and values of the organization, we don't want that person being part of the [bank]."
