FDA guidance updates postmarket surveillance program

The FDA has issued guidance outlining the types of devices that may be eligible for postmarket surveillance and how manufacturers should comply with the program. The guidance, which will be open for comment over the next three months, also recommends that the 36-month surveillance period be extended for pediatric devices.
