Task force updates guidelines for rhinitis diagnosis, treatment

The Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters has updated guidelines for diagnosing and treating rhinitis, including a review of new medications and guidance on management therapies, such as leukotriene receptor antagonists. The update includes the term "episodic" for rhinitis brought about by exposure to inhalant aeroallergens and stresses the importance of recognizing the comorbidities of allergic rhinitis.
