Consol gets $3.4 billion from sale of Marcellus shares to Noble

Consol Energy will sell half of its Marcellus Shale shares to Noble Energy for $3.4 billion. Under the deal's terms, the companies will jointly develop 663,350 acres in the formation. Consol hopes to expand its knowledge base on drilling and well completion through the agreement, said Nicholas DeIuliis, president of Consol.
