European regulators approve Medtronic's aortic valve

Medtronic said it has received CE Mark approval for its CoreValve system, a transcatheter aortic valve that patients can receive without undergoing surgery. In the U.S., the device, which can be used in patients with valve openings of up to 29 millimeters, is limited to investigational uses, according to the Minneapolis-based company.
