U.S. Justice Department joins SEC in investigating rating agencies

The investigation into credit rating agencies and their role in mortgage-bond deals is expanding, an unidentified official said. The Securities and Exchange Commission has been looking into Standard & Poor's and Moody's Investors Service for months, and now the U.S. Justice Department is investigating, although its investigation appears to focus on S&P.
