Data show PET/CT system prices, spending are falling

The latest Modern Healthcare/ECRI Institute Technology Price Index reveals a 21% drop in the average price of PET/CT systems in the past year, with a 27% decline in prices paid for the technology from May to June attributed to increased focus on lower-cost models. High-end PET/CT systems cost $2 million or more, while more affordable versions are priced between $1 million and $1.7 million.
