Market shifts away from correlation

Stocks are increasingly moving independently, and their movements are less correlated to the overall market than at any point since the crisis, according to some measures. As a result, some analysts believe that individual stock picking is again becoming the best way to find value. "We're at the part of the cycle where unlocking shareholder value is going to get more case-by-case," said Matt Peron of Northern Trust.
