Probiotics may offer children some protection against allergies

Children who received probiotics, before or after birth, had reduced sensitivity to certain allergens, making them slightly less prone to allergies, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. However, researchers found no evidence that probiotics lowered children's odds of developing asthma or wheezing.
