Researchers: AOL's Adap.tv exchange is riddled with bots

AOL paid $405 million for Adap.tv, but may have purchased an ad exchange network that relies on bots to create phony ad impressions and milk marketers' budgets, according to sources cited in this article. Recent reports say between 30% and 40% of the service's traffic is suspicious, but others such as Traction Media Director Abe Snyder say the industry as a whole has issues with "suspect" video-exchange inventories.
