Omega-3 fish oil benefits people with metabolic syndrome

A 12-week study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that people with metabolic syndrome had lower triglycerides from adding omega-3 fatty acids to a diet rich in monounsaturated fat or a low-fat diet that was high in complex carbohydrates. The researchers said an extended study is needed to show longer-term effects of dietary fat interventions.
