CMS program helped fuel growth of Medicare ACOs, report says

A report recently released by Leavitt Partners showed that the number of Medicare accountable care organizations has surpassed the number of commercial ACOs. The addition of hundreds of new participants in CMS' Medicare Shared Savings Program has contributed to the trend, according to the report, which also notes that since no new Medicare ACOs will be created until January, non-Medicare ACOs may regain the majority.
