Facebook Android update brings developers up to date

Facebook has released a mobile software development kit that catches up Android devices to the iOS version, encouraging developers to integrate Facebook features. "This is arguably an even more important mission ... since its attempt to subvert other people's apps -- via its Facebook Home Android home screen takeover -- has fallen so spectacularly on its face," Natasha Lomas writes. In other news, former teen hacker Marc Maiffret raised money online to pay hacker Khalil Shreateh, who broke into CEO Mark Zuckerberg's account over the weekend in order to inform the company of a vulnerability. Facebook denied him its usual reward, saying he broke the rules by hacking into a personal account.
