Texas town fights shoplifting with social media

Police in Rosenburg, Texas, are taking an aggressive approach to shoplifting by automatically arresting every suspect and regularly posting notices about shoplifting arrests on social media pages. "We’re trying to be proactive in preventing crimes, because it’s better for us to stop the crime before it happens instead of us just going to the call where it’s already happened," said Lt. Brian Baker. Law enforcement is responding to a recent spike in shoplifting -- there was a 55% increase in retail theft incidents during the month of July.
