Planners in Cape Coral, Fla., are considering a proposed sign ordinance that would ban A-frame signs and put limits on window signs and advertising flags. Officials say the changes are needed to clean up cluttered business districts, but local businesses say the changes would take a bite out of traffic and sales. "We don't have the space to put up a monument sign. ... Simple removable signs are the easiest way to go," said David Close, manager of an area pawn shop.
