Md. county, U.S. Army explore waste-to-energy ventures

Sierra Energy's waste-to-gas system with a modular design, called FastOx Pathfinder, is being readied for the U.S. Army, its first customer. Meanwhile, Washington County, Md., is teaming up with waste-gasification group America First to produce energy from landfill waste. The project is expected to reduce the waste sent to the county landfill by up to 95%.
