Texas districts save money by reducing busing costs, using alt-fuels

Several school districts in Texas are hoping to cut costs and generate revenue amid huge deductions in state funding by slashing busing costs, redirecting bus routes and downsizing the number of drivers. Other school districts are turning to propane autogas and compressed natural gas to save on fuel costs and win state and federal grants. The Arlington school district is planning to build its own autogas fueling station and buy 24 more propane autogas-powered buses in addition to its existing 24 autogas school buses.
