Concrete apron reconstruction at Kansas airport is underway

About 33,000 cubic yards of concrete from the 70-year-old apron at the Great Bend Municipal Airport in Kansas will be crushed and recycled into the new apron. About 2,000 tons of fly ash will be included in the new apron, along with the recycled concrete, and 33,000 cubic yards of new concrete will be added. The project is the first major makeover for the airport since World War II.
