Flu shots may offer protection against heart attack, study says

Getting the flu vaccine was associated with a 45% lower risk of heart attack, researchers reported in the journal Heart. The study, which involved more than 500 hospitalized patients in Sydney, also found that respiratory-tract infection was linked to a twofold higher risk of heart attack.
