Ben & Jerry's asks Twitter users to donate spare characters

Most tweets don't reach Twitter's 140-character limit -- so Ben & Jerry's is asking Twitter users to donate leftover characters to help raise awareness of Fair Trade Month. The ice-cream company has created a Web application that automatically inserts pro-Fair Trade messages into the space left at the end of a tweet, allowing users to promote the movement without interrupting their regular Twitter use.
