Amazon has reportedly linked with satellite communications provider Globalstar in a Cupertino, Calif., trial of a wireless network that would enable customers to get online through various devices. The e-commerce retailer would join other Internet companies such as Google in creating wireless and fiber-based networks designed to connect users as part of efforts to boost their core businesses. It was unclear if the Cupertino test remains ongoing or Amazon will pursue the idea.
