Before building your company's app, consider a mobile website

While many companies immediately assume they need a native mobile application to get their messages across on handheld devices, they often don't consider all the variables and end up with an ill-suited product, writes Roy Chomko. Companies should also consider a mobile website or a responsively designed website, he says, adding that determining factors include what types of features are absolutely necessary, which mobile strategy best accommodates those features and how hard they will be to maintain in the future.
