Changing trends in the fitness industry include a return of the boot camp exercise program, smaller gyms with specialized classes and lower-cost programs. American Fitness Professionals & Associates president Mark Occhipinti said baby boomers with more disposable income are opting for small studios or outdoor training, which can be costly, but overall people are choosing stand-alone studios and looking for yoga, CrossFit and Pilates.
