For instance, such companies seek interns using practices similar to those used for hiring full-time employees. Having a plan also is important. "One of the easiest ways you can sabotage your engineering internship program is to not have a plan," he writes. "There's nothing worse than a highly qualified engineering intern showing up on the first day and having nothing of value to do."
