Hershey restores cocoa town in Peru, expands capacity

The Hershey Co. has spent the past two years rebuilding and expanding the cocoa-producing capacity of a town in Peru that was destroyed by guerrilla warfare, the company stated. The rebuilding efforts, which included teaching the town's cocoa farmers how to increase their capacity and building expanded warehouse space, are part of Hershey's 21st Century Cocoa Sustainability Strategy.
