Information that clients hide from advisers could hurt their finances

Some clients hide serious marital, debt or health problems from their financial advisers, according to a recent survey. In some cases, the information withheld could "seriously undermine a financial strategy," the company behind the survey said. As an example, chronic illness could limit the client's ability to work after the customary retirement age, the study said.
