Kik is on a growth spurt, despite BlackBerry ban

The 80-million-strong subscriber base for the Kik instant messaging service has surpassed BlackBerry's BBM, which is ironic given that BlackBerry sued the Canadian company for patent infringement and kicked Kik off the BlackBerry platform.
