Lagging inflation could delay Fed plan to cut bond buying

Despite many signs that the U.S. economy is gaining momentum, several benchmarks point to inflation slowing dramatically. Economists don't agree on the reason inflation is cooling, but some suggest that the recession inflicted damage on the economy that isn't going away. If that's the case, the Federal Reserve might not be able to taper off bond buying as soon as it wants.
