Marriage issue roils Ala. GOP

Alabama Republican officials have proposed a change to the state party bylaws that would prevent anyone who supports marriage equality from serving on the party steering committee. The move follows pro-marriage-equality comments by Stephanie Petelos, a GOP activist who attends the University of Alabama. The Young Republican Federation of Alabama backed Petelos' right to express her views, and called on the party to be respectful of differences within its ranks.
