Public comments raise concerns with federal fracking regulation, disclosure rules

Comments are due today on the Bureau of Land Management's rule for hydraulic fracturing on federal lands, and many commenters have already urged that fracking be regulated by states. Many comments also raise concerns about disclosure of fracking fluid chemicals. The National Association of Manufacturers has pushed for withdrawal of the rule because "such reactionary regulation only contributes to the public's misunderstanding of the hydraulic fracturing process."
