Smart trucks could work together to burn less fuel

Peloton Technology, a California startup, wants to equip U.S. freight trucks with sensors that would allow vehicles to coordinate their speeds and braking systems. The efficiency boost delivered by collaborative acceleration and braking could allow companies to save 11% to 13% of their fuel costs, or about $10,000 per truck each year.
