Seven schools in Fairfax County, Va., no longer will include full-calorie soda in their vending machines. The move is part of a pilot program that could be implemented in all schools in the future. Regular soda will be replaced by diet soda, iced tea, V8, flavored water and low-calorie Gatorade. The district currently restricts the hours that vending machines can be operated in all schools.
