Beijing cracks down on China's mobile-phone data providers

China Mobile is cracking down on third-party providers of data services for sending unauthorized messages to mobile-phone users. A report says part of the impetus for the crackdown is that the government is trying to stem the spread of pornography, but economics may play a factor as well, for China Mobile may be able to leverage more favorable revenue deals with third-party providers that are in the doghouse.
