West Nile virus is detected in 2 California chickens

Two sentinel chickens in Fontana, Calif., have tested positive for West Nile virus, putting area horses at risk for the potentially fatal mosquito-borne disease. Equine owners are urged to consult their veterinarians to ensure that their horses are current on vaccinations.
