AT&T gets questions from FCC about LTE

The Federal Communications Commission has asked AT&T for more information about its proposed merger with T-Mobile USA after AT&T lawyers accidentally leaked a filing showing that AT&T needed only $3.8 billion to build out its LTE network -- one-tenth of the money that it would spend on the T-Mobile purchase. "We look forward to providing the commission with this additional information, which will further confirm that we would not be able to deliver 4G LTE to 55 million more Americans without our merger with T-Mobile," AT&T's Michael Balmoris said.
