Ill. county to hold public hearing on Invenergy's wind project

The zoning office of Champaign County, Ill., will on Thursday conduct its first public hearing for Invenergy's proposal to install 30 turbines in the county. The proposal is part of the California Ridge Wind Energy project, which includes 104 wind turbines in neighboring Vermilion County. The project is expected to generate up to 214 megawatts of power, and could cost about $350 million to build.
