FDA approves new cardiovascular imaging system

The FDA has given marketing clearance to a cardiovascular imaging system produced by Volcano Corp. and General Electric's health care division. The system, Innova IVUS, uses a digital X-ray cath lab imaging system in combination with intravascular ultrasound imaging. The device will be co-marketed in Europe, the U.S., some Asia markets and other world regions.
