US isn't among international leaders in maths achievement

A recent analysis by the National Center for Education Statistics found that US students trail in maths and science knowledge when compared internationally. Fourth- and eighth-graders in the US trail their peers in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore in maths achievement, and high-schoolers in Finland, China and Estonia also outperformed US students in the subject.
