Hospitals save $1.1M a year with HAI prevention program

The Michigan Keystone ICU Patient Safety Program to reduce hospital-acquired infections saved participating hospitals an average of $1.1 million per year in costs, according to a report on the Johns Hopkins initiative in the American Journal of Medical Quality. The findings "show that there is a strong connection between hospital quality and economic outcome," the study said.
