4 programs that are changing how students learn STEM

Students are finding increasing options for learning about science, technology, engineering and math. Mainstream voices such as Mayim Bialik, neuroscientist and actress from "The Big Bang Theory," and "Burn Notice" creator Matt Nix, are involved in STEM projects that offer unique learning opportunities. Videos and lessons feature Bialik and use zombies to illustrate science, and Nix hosted a competition in which student winners who refashioned a garage door opener into a Morse code transmitter walked away with $5,000 for their invention.
