Maine schools seek to improve quality, freshness of school meals

Some school districts in Maine are changing how they source food for meals and how they develop recipes. The Windham-Raymond School District -- in an effort to take its meals to the next level -- has hired a full-time chef to help train staff, teach after-school classes and devise menu items that meet students' tastes. Portland schools are leading the farm-to-school charge by serving only locally sourced foods at least one day a week.
