Va. district makes changes to bring students back to the cafeteria

A Virginia school district is looking to draw students back to the cafeteria after a 16% drop in meal purchases last school year. To help, school nutrition professionals will reintroduce hamburger buns and larger dinner rolls this year, offer more chicken dishes and serve prepackaged chef salads in high schools. When new, federal regulations went into effect, the district exchanged hamburger buns for flatbread and reduced serving sizes on dinner rolls.
