Retail growth in India slower than expected

Wal-Mart Stores, Build-A-Bear Workshop and Hanesbrands are three U.S. companies that have ventured into the promising Indian retail market only to discover that ventures didn't take off as planned. Wal-Mart will open its first wholesale store there in 2009, but both Build-A-Bear and Hanesbrands have had to close Indian stores.
